It contains a huge amount of information where Gears of War 4 is set, how long after the events of Gears of War 3 and more but I’ll explain it all here. Gears of War 4 is STILL set in Sera and 25 years after Gears of War 3. It will feature 2 Player Co-Op and this has been confirmed in the article. As well as the Pouncer, the coverage trailer also showcases a brand-new enemy too!

It also features an exclusive reveal of 3 major characters and their cast counterparts who will be in Gears of War 4, which will be detailed below:

Delmont “Del” Walker (Left), JD Fenix (Middle), Kait Diaz (Right)

JD Fenix as now confirmed is the son of Marcus Fenix. He is an idealist and what is also revealed about him is that he ran away from home at a young age. He then joined the COG militia, only to go AWOL afterwards.

JD is played by Liam McIntyre, a very-well known actor for his work as the lead actor of Starz series Spartacus. He also recently played the Weather Wizard on the The CW show The Flash.

Here’s a few things McIntyre has said for his role casting as JD Fenix: “It’s kind of terrifying, because I get to be the lead in a new era of Gears, which is unbelievable, amazing, and exciting. I’m the legacy, because my dad is Marcus Fenix. JD’s a soldier and a bit of a freedom fighter, and in his heart he’s a bit of a renegade. He’s different from Marcus, but he’s still that heroic archetype.

Next we have Kait Kiaz, who was born outside of the walled city-states protecting most of humanity. It turns out her parents were leaders of a group called the Outsiders but her father died years ago. She isn’t familiar how the COG works. She’s very capable of surviving on her own but she forms a friendship with JD.

Kait is played by Laura Bailey, a very-well successful voice actor, with roles as Kid Trunks in Dragon Ball Z, Spartan Olympia Vale in Halo 5: Guardians, and Jaina Proudmoore in World of Warcraft, among others.

A few things Laura said as her role as Kait: “What’s interesting about her is that she grew up as an Outsider, so she’s been away from this military environment that the boys grew up in. It’s fun to do her dialogue because she approaches it from a different place. She has a less technical approach to everything she does because she’s never experienced anything like this. She’s a great entry point into this world, because she doesn’t know everything about it either.”

Last but not least, we have Delmont “Del” Walker, who is an ex-COG solider. Del became friends with JD when he was an orphan and attended boarding school together. Del followed JD and enlisted in the COG at the same time. What’s really interesting, Del was involved in an “classified incident” which sent both Del and JD into hiding. Regardless of that, Del is loyal to JD.

Del is played by Eugene Byrd, who played as Marcus “Boomer” Boone in Battlefield: Hardline. He also appears as a recurring cast member on television shows like Arrow and Bones.

Couple of things Bryd had to say about Del: I had to play up the nuance because the friendship between him and JD meant a lot, so getting to know [Liam McIntyre] and actually becoming friends with him helped us play together. I think Del wasn’t a clean slate, so I had to give him a bit of a backstory, but then we were able to evolve it. We’re actually building it while we’re doing it.”

Well here you have it folks. Everything about this sounds really, really exciting and personally after nearly nine months of waiting for brand-new announcements since E3 2015, this has been totally worth it. Gears of War 4 is in perfect hands of The Coalition and after reading all of this, we can fully expect this Gears of War will truly be a spectacle to behold. More information will be released from Game Informer through-out this month.
