WARNING: Your Game data could become Corrupted

This is just a heads up, a word to the wise to all members, if you don’t or haven’t already backed up your Gears profile I strongly suggest you do it and you do it ASAP. The best way to do this is to use the new cloud storage that is now available on Xbox; there are tutorial videos on YouTube that show you how to do this. Another way would be to have a memory stick that you can copy your profile onto.

I tell you this now as a good friend of mine had his Gears profile reset recently, Rank, Medals, Ribbons, and Weapon skins … the lot. When he phoned Xbox to complain he was told they had been getting many calls from people with the same problem and the best they could do was to offer him a 2 month free Xbox live code, He was not happy!

Also he had done nothing wrong this is believed to be a bug in the game, As he was playing a match of KOTH the game froze and would let him do nothing so he switched his Xbox off then on and when loaded his game again everything was reset.

Unfortunately he had not backed up his profile and it is now gone forever. So if you’re a Hardcore Gear head and have, like me, put hundreds of hours in to this game … Back up you saves, because just think for a sec, if that did happen to you … I know I’d be gutted, but with a backup everything can be recovered.

Be Safe and back up … All the best people.

That's exactly what happened me, game froze then nothing, just strange how I jumped up 10 levels? Rank blue 51- if I can't get this back I'm done with gears. Where could I find that number?

I think Microsoft does this on purpose to promote their cloud service. They seem to be very shady this way.
