In this post, we’ll be discussing about Game Informer’s article of the new weapons and enemies that will be in Gears of War 4. It’s really interesting to know the weapons for construction purposes and have been re-fitted for good and gory Gears action.
First off, we have the Dropshot. It’s kind of the opposite of the Digger Launcher. It fires its projectiles aerially instead of underground. When you fire it, a mine hovers over the battlefield vertically as long as you hold the trigger. The moment you let go; the mine spins downwards and if it hits the ground, it’ll drill for a second then explode, blowing up anything in its vicinity. But if you manage to score a direct hit on a opponent, the mine will drill on their head, removing it and continues drilling into the rest of their body.
What a gruesome way to kill someone. However, this requires a lot of control so you may need to practice a bit to be great with the Dropshot. Does this weapon appealing to you? Would you attempt to master the Dropshot and get lots of memorable clips with it?
Next: The Buzzsaw. If you love chainsawing your enemies with the chainsaw bayonet on the Lancer, you’ll love this weapon. It not only fires one but many buzzsaws. What’s so awesome though, the saws don’t get stuck in the walls; they bounce around like pinballs! Watch yourself at all times firing this weapon as you may end up killing yourself if you don’t keep an eye out for bouncing saws. I mean, wow! This weapon reminds me of one used in Dead Space and I’ve had so much fun using it.
Here’s a screenshot from Game Informer of all known humanoid Swarm enemies who will be in Gears of War 4. I’m really in awe how shockingly terrifying they all look. As you can see, they do feature Locust-like characteristics so even though the Locust are confirmed to not be in the Campaign, least this is paying homage to them. This is quite likely (not confirmed) we can play as any of these Swarm characters in the Gears 4 Beta. Who’s going to be your character of choice playing on the Swarm team? I think I’ll play as the Hunter.
