In order to get the “What Does This Button do?” Achievement you need to first unlock the rockets on the silverback and to do this you need to upgrade it to level 3, If you have level 2 already from there you need to spend 3 hundred thousand dollars on it to upgrade it.
This in its self is a big job.
Any one come up with any ways to boost this upgrade. Also does anyone know what effect difficulty levels and Mutators have on the cash you spend?
What would be the best set up for a horde match to get the rockets unlocked fast, Because even when you’ve unlocked the rockets you still then need to get 500 kills with them.
Would love to hear from the GoWPortal community of any tips you might have come across.

Permalink Reply by Dylan on November 4, 2011 at 21:03 the only problem with easy mutators is that if you have e.g super reload on that gets your xp down 25% more than usual, but this also effects the money you put into your fortifications e.g a silverback costs $12,500 so if you have super reload, you will only put $9,375 towards your investment.
If, however you put on enemy regeneration, must active reload and friendly fire on etc, you would get 25% more towards your investment, giving you $15,375.
anyways what i do is i go on wave 10 with super reload on casual, kill everything apart from the last enemy, let the last one kill you then restart the wave, you still have the money you earned and you get about $8,000 each time, don't do this unless you don't mind your W/L going down drastically.
Sounds good Dylan, Thanks man for the info, this will help
Ok so I’ve got a way that works to upgrade your silverback (and any other fortification you want to upgrade) fast, I’ve been playing on blood drive with the difficulty on normal and the Vampire, No Ammo Pick-ups and Friendly Fire Mutators on.
I start on wave 7 and play that until you have one bad guy left, let him kill you and start the wave again. This should get you around $6000 a wave, give or take, so a couple of waves should get you the silverback.
When I have the silverback I play through to wave 9 and rinse and repeat that wave. Then at the top of the level where you buy the pistol you can hide in that little room and let them come to you and blast them as soon as they come round the corner.
This way you get Lots of cash and take almost no damage to the silverback so if you want to upgrade other fortifications to can just plough all your cash in to what you need to fully upgrade.
When you get the silverback to level 3 you unlock the rockets it costs $10.000 to then upgrade the standard silverback to have rockets. At this point I play several waves, get lots of cash together and because I have the Friendly Fire Mutator on you can just shoot your silverback and blow it up yourself, Die, start the wave again and re-buy the silverback for a cost of $15.000. A few hours of this will get you a boat load of cash to spend on what you like.
I have every fortification maxed out doing this apart from the Silverback as I thought that it maxed out on level 4. So I got my silverback to level 4 got 11% cheaper repairs BUT it didn’t max out, you can get it to at least level 5. What you unlock when you get to level 5 I don’t know and from level 4 you have to spend $600.000 to level up again so that’s going to take some time even with this method.
I would love to hear from you if you know what you get at level 5, I guess it could be cheaper repairs again but I hope that it upgrades your minigun so that it doesn’t over heat and will just fire continuously that would be the shit.
Thanks Guys (and girls) hope this helps.
Just to confirm, I got my silverback to level 5 last night and that maxed it out (for now anyhow) with a total of 1.5 million spent on it,
And what do you get for getting it to level 5? … … unfortunately just another 11% Cheaper repairs …
BUT now we know at least … …
